Seahawks Richard Sherman thinks Darrelle Revis is irrelevant

Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman is a talker. Sherman is happy to leave you with a soundbite whether you wanted it or not. With rumors floating that NFC West rival San Francisco 49’ers might be in the mix for Jets CB Darrelle Revis, Sherman happily shared his thoughts on the subject.

“It’d be fun either way, there’s always a rivalry there,” Sherman told 710 ESPN in Seattle when asked about the prospect of Revis being traded to San Francisco. “I still wouldn’t get to play against him directly so it wouldn’t really matter to me. I’m sure our receivers would have a little fun with him. But yeah, I don’t mind either way, he’s really irrelevant in my mind.”

So there you have it. That’s always one of the things that I can’t really appreciate about football. Having effectively two separate teams, all you really can do is compare stats, which is fun but I like head-to-head match ups.

At least we always have their Twitter battle. That was exciting, right?
