While I was personally rooting for the San Francisco 49’ers during Sunday night’s match between the Niners and the Seattle Seahawks, I have an affinity for sh*t talkers who can back it up. Naturally that means that Seahawk cornerback Richard Sherman ranks high on my likes list.
Sherman was a key piece in the 29-3 victory over the Seahawks NFC West rival 49ers with the biggest highlight coming early in the fourth quarter. Sherman picked off a pass from 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick intended for Vernon Davis. After his 28-yard return, Sherman celebrated with the Seahawks cheerleaders.
Then to add insult to injury following the Seahawks win, Sherman slaps Niners head coach, Jim Harbaugh – and his former college coach whom he has a bit of beef with- a tap on the butt.
“I told him good job, good game, but he didn’t give me nothing back,” Sherman said, according to NFL.com. “I guess sportsmanship doesn’t go both ways.” Harbaugh, though, said he wasn’t trying to ignore Sherman. “I didn’t realize it was him until he was moving in the other direction,” Harbaugh said. “He came up and patted me on the back, and I congratulated him.”
