Ravens wr Torrey Smith feels the media blew up the incident between Jacoby Jones

Ravens receiver Torrey Smith feels that the incident involving teammate Jacoby Jones getting hit in the head with a champagne bottle by a woman named “Sweet Pea,” is only being blown up because the media got a hold of it.

Technically, he’s right. Dramas pop off all the time outside the locker room. Sometimes, it even seeps it’s way back into the sacred space, and the public is none the wiser. But, when it is exposed, trying to say “it’s not that big of a deal,” especially when one of your players is injured as a result, probably isn’t the best approach to inspire confidence that leadership still lives in the Ravens locker room. You just have to take that L, and understand that outside looking in thought process from fans.
Former Ravens icon Ray Lewis questioned the leadership currently there, Smith had a response for that too:
“We have great leadership, so to say because of one incident, that it’s a leadership issue, to me, is a joke because everyone is not going to always be around and incidents happen,” Smith said.  “Stuff happens in the locker room, stuff happens in the spur of the moment.  Now, if it happens every week, all the time, then that’s a problem.  For one incident to happen and say it’s a leadership issue when most of the team wasn’t there, it’s an overreaction.”
Point to Smith on this one. Those men are adults, there is only so much influence, positive or negative, one can have over them. But Ray is on the other side now, his job is to voice an opinion. The proof will be in the results.
