Could Los Angeles handle three NFL teams? Probably not, but that’s what’s being proposed.
A new joint NFL stadium is the idea being floated by the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders, per the LA Times. The 168-acre site would be located in Carson at the intersection of the 405 Freeway and Del Amo Boulevard. The cost would be $1.7 billion.
The Rams are reportedly headed back to LA. Owner Stan Kroenke announced in December he was building an 80,000 seat stadium in Inglewood. While the plan for the Inglewood site includes retail and possible condos, the Carson location would just be a 68,000-seat stadium.
Football fans in the city of angels won’t believe anything until the NFL officially announces it. We’ve been here quite a few times the last couple of years. We’re tired of other cities trying to use us, to make their current city jealous. Then they always manage to find the public funds for a new stadium.
