Bad news for the Patriots as they prepare to face off against the Baltimore Ravens this weened in the AFC conference championship. Tight end Rob Gronkowski re-injured his left forearm in Sunday’s match up and will miss the remainder of the Playoffs.
Gronkowski initially injured his left forearm while blocking on an extra point attempt at the end of a 59-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 18. Gronk had surgery and missed five games returning for the final game of te season against the Miami Dolphins. Sunday’s injury happened in the first quarter when he landed on the arm while attempting to snag a pass from Patriots QB Tom Brady.
The bright side to all of this is that during Gronkowski’s five game absence, the Pats managed to keep their scoring above their average at 36 points per game.
Gronkowski is scheduled to have surgery today (Monday.)
