There are still five undefeated teams as we head into NFL Week 7. Three of them are guaranteed to stay that way heading into Week 8, as the Bengals, Broncos and Packers are all on a Bye week.
Here are our predictions for Week 7. Remember these are game predictions not meant to cover the spread for you gamblers.:
BILLS VS. JAGUARS
Listen, I’m not a fan of 6 AM football, so I’ll pass on this match up. My heart says the Bills, but so far Rex hasn’t been able to capture the magic in Buffalo. Add to that the Bills are missing five starters, it’s the Jags game.
BUCCANEEERS VS. REDSKINS
This is a game Tampa Bay can win. Running back Doug Martin has been burning up the field, including two consecutive 100-yard games. Washington’s defense is 23rd in the NFL against the run. If Washington can contain Martin to the middle, that will be the best opportunity to stop him.
FALCONS VS. TITANS
The Atlanta Falcons like to score, and the Titans have allowed 28 points in three of their four losses. Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has a sprained left MCL, will see if he plays today.
SAINTS VS. COLTS
Here’s the set up, both teams’ QB’s – Drew Brees and Andrew Luck- have rebounded nicely from shoulder injuries this season. Both teams defenses are ranked in the bottom of the NFL. Colts have better targets.
VIKINGS VS. LIONS
Adrian Peterson lights it up against Detroit. In 2013 Peterson rushed for a 78 yard-touchdown, and his first 100-yard game of this season came against the Lions in Week 2. Plus, the Lions defense has given up 723 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in six games.
STEELERS VS. CHIEFS
Kansas City Chiefs should be in prayer that third-string quarterback Landry Jones starts for the Steelers. Even if the football Gods smile on them, where will the offense come from? The Chiefs have only scored 10 points in their last two games.
BROWNS VS. RAMS
The Cleveland Browns season has been ugly. Trouble on defense – ranked dead last in the league on run defense. Rams RB Todd Gurley says Hello – no run game, and lets not forget about the off the field drama – Johnny Football still making the wrong headlines.
TEXANS VS. DOLPHINS
New coach, who dis? That pretty much describes the Dolphins’ energy following the coaching change with interim head coach Dan Campbell.
JETS VS. PATRIOTS
This should be a fun game, the No. 1 scoring offense vs. the No. 1 scoring defense. Can the Jets defense shut down the Patriots’ big three Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Tom Brady.
RAIDERS VS. CHARGERS
The Oakland Raiders are well rested coming off their Bye week. They also haven’t won in San Diego since 2011. Since 2002, the Chargers are 18-6 against Oakland. One of these teams will be in LA soon. That’s the important thing to focus on.
COWBOYS VS. GIANTS
Whew I’m really here for the Twitter comments. These two fanbases are always entertaining, especially when they face off against each other. The Dallas Cowboys have won three in a row at the Meadowlands, and four of five games against the Giants. The Cowboys beat the Giants in the season opener because of poor clock management by New York. But, Dallas is without QB Tony Romo, WR Dez Bryant and Lance Dunbar. Look for the Giants to take advantage of the opportunity.
