The NFL playoffs return to action this weekend with the divisional round. Check out the schedule for this weekend’s match ups plus my picks. Last weekend I was 3 out of 4.
Saturday, January 10th
AFC: Baltimore Ravens ( 10-6) at New England Patriots (12-4)
Time: 4:35 PM EST/ 1:35 PM PST
TV: NBC
The Ravens are probably still on a high after beating the Steelers last weekend. This is the fourth time in six years that these two teams have met up in the playoffs. If the Ravens offensive line can protect Tom Brady, this one is the Patriots. Plus, how can you go against Tom Brady in the playoffs?
NFC: Carolina Panthers (7-8-1) at Seattle Seahawks ( 12-4)
Time: 8:15 PM EST/ 5:15 PM PST
TV: FOX
The NFL Super Bowl defending champs are a beast at home. The Seahawks have won seven consecutive home playoff games and are an NFL-best 24-2 at home since 2012. Meanwhile, the Panthers have come alive this season, despite a losing record. They have won five consecutive games, outscoring opponents by a combined 138-59. But I still don’t think that matters. Going into Seattle, the Panthers won’t make it out alive. Too bad cause Cam Newton is soo cute. I’ll miss seeing him in the playoffs.
Sunday, January 11th
NFC: Dallas Cowboys (12-4) at Green Bay Packers (12-4)
Time: 1:05 PM EST/ 10:05 AM PST
TV: FOX
How about dem Cowboys. The Cowboys have done some of their best work this season away from Jerry’s playpen. But going into Lambeau and getting a win is no easy feat. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has a calf injury which may limit him. I have faith that the Cowboys will make it out alive and continue their march towards the Super Bowl.
AFC: Indianapolis Colts (11-5) at Denver Broncos (12-4)
Time: 4:40 PM EST/ 1:40 PM PST
TV:CBS
Old versus new. Peyton Manning ended up with the Broncos after his old team, the Indianapolis Colts put their focus on the future with then incoming QB Andrew Luck. So far it seems to have worked out well for both, with the Broncos making it to the Super Bowl last year – and turning in one of the most uninspired performances – but, that was last season. I’m going to give the slight edge to the Broncos because they’re at home.
