After an NFL season that included the Miami Dolphins locker room bullying scandal, where the use of the N word was center stage, the NFL is thinking of making some changes.
John Wooten, head of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, who are tasked with monitoring diversity in the NFL, said he expects the league to institute a rule where players would be penalized 15 yards for using the N-word on the field.
Wooten believes the NFL’s competition committee will enact the rule at the owners’ meeting next month. Also included with this proposal would be the use of other slurs including homophobic slurs.
Interesting proposal.
