The NFL has an image problem right now and is seeking help in varied places. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Executive VP of Football Operations, Troy Vincent met with University of Texas Longhorn’s coach, Charlie Strong on Sunday morning. Strong, known as a non-nonsense coach in the college ranks has dismissed nine players for failing to uphold his “Core Values” system.
Strong’s system is simple, and consist of five core values; honesty, treating women with respect, no drugs, no stealing and no weapons, with an emphasis on character & respect over talent.
Not sure why it was a college coach that needed to give that revelation to the NFL. But also keep in mind, you can’t treat “grown” men like college students. I can’t see that going over well.
