Katy Perry to perform at halftime of SuperBowl XLIV

Looks as if Katy Perry will be your half-time performance at  Super Bowl XLIX. Perry was on a short list that included Cold Play and Rihanna– who I’m sure was a definite NO after having Roc Nation pull the license for “Run this town” following the Ray Rice fallout .

Per Page Six, the details are currently being worked out. The idea was floated that the NFL wanted artist to pay them for the privilege of performing but Perry recently balked at that notion.

“I’m not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl,” Perry sniffed. The NFL said its negotiations with artists are confidential.

With 115 million viewers for last year’s event, I’m sure the NFL can continue with the current set up which doesn’t pay the performer to begin with.

Katy was featured on ESPN’s “College Game Day” last weekend and had a great time.

For me, this choice is ok, I like Katy, especially, California Girls, cause I am one. :flashes smile:

The SuperBowl takes place February 1st in Arizona.
