The man at the center of the storm of the Miami Dolphins locker room, offensive tackle Jonathan Martin, recently checked into a South Florida hospital to be treated for emotional distress.
Martin was visited at the hospital by Dolphins coach Joe Philbin, and the organization arranged for his parents to travel to South Florida, the sources said.
Martin then left with his parents to return to California where they’re from.
Coach Philbin was never informed by Martin that he felt harassed by Incognito. Martin’s lawyers are preparing to release a statement.
Martin’s teammates have come out in overwhelming support of Richie Incognito. Even stating that Incognito was Martin’s “best friend” on the team and expressing confusion of the events that are unfolding.
