The New York Jets will play their final game of the NFL season this Sunday. It’s also expected to be head coach Rex Ryan’s last with the franchise. Ryan reportedly cleaned out his office on Saturday, anticipating that his sixth year with the franchise will be the final one.
According to Dom Cosentino of NJ.com, Charley Casserly – a consultant hired by Jets owner Woody Johnson – has already begun contacting prospective replacements for Ryan.
Ryan hasn’t been officially informed that he’s a wrap. It also appears that general manager John Idzik is on the chopping block as well. Casserly has reportedly started looking for replacements for Idzik, too.
I will miss Sexy Rex. HBO’s “Hard Knocks” solidified my adoration when he implored the team to go get some “F-ing snacks.”
