On Friday when news broke of the Philadelphia Eagles release of Pro Bowl receiver DeSean Jackson, word started to surface that DeSean’s alleged gang ties were the root of the problem. Former NFL running back and Super Bowl Champion Derrick Ward went on a Twitter rampage of epic proportion, defending Jackson. Ward, who is also a native of South Central LA, took ESPN and other media outlets to task for speaking up on a topic that they have no real connection too.
Well there you have it. And considering reports that have now surfaced about Eagles head coach Chip Kelly simply not wanting to work with Jackson, seems as if this is more about chemistry between a head coach and player.
