The NFL’s MVP debate should be over after Sunday. The New England Patriots are now 10-2 after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. It looked like the Carolina Panthers were going to join the rest of the NFL after almost losing to the New Orleans Saints, but Super Cam saved the day.
Cam Newton showed how special he’s been this season, throwing five touchdown passes- two in the fourth quarter – while the Panthers climbed out of the hole they found themselves in after the first half.
The Panthers have also secured their third NFC South title. They become the ninth team in the Super Bowl era to start 12-0. They also have won 16 straight regular-season games, a streak that coincidentally began last season on the Saints home turf at the Superdome.
Cam’s heroics late in the game came after New Orleans responded to the Panthers comeback with running back Mark Ingram scoring a 9-yard run with 5:21 left in the fourth and ahead. Newton and the Panthers ended the game with a 15-yard TD to Jerricho Cotchery with 1:05 left in the game. Newton summed up the end of this match up perfectly.
Cam even has Panthers’ owner Jerry Richardson as a member of #DabSquad.
Do you think Cam’s performance Sunday sealed the deal for the award?
