Dez Bryant Goes Off In Locker Room On Cowboys Media

Athletes and the media can have a contentious relationship. The latest example of this is a locker room blow up by Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant on the media.

Dez accused Cowboys beat writer Jean-Jacques Taylor of calling his teammate Devin Street the N word – for those that are curious, Jean-Jacques is black. Other members of the media disputed this claim.
After walking around the locker room yelling and cursing at Jean-Jacques, another reporter, Robert Klemko of Sports Illustrated’s Monday Morning Quarterback, tweeted a portion of what Bryant had said.

“Dez Bryant just blew up on reporter, went on 10-min rant. ‘Until they stop disrespecting this team I don’t give a (expletive). (expletive) sick!”

A few minutes later, Bryant found out about the tweet and re-directed his rant toward Klemko.

“What the (expletive) are you doing?” Bryant yelled at Klemko. “If you’re going to report something, report it right! Report the whole thing. Don’t single me out like that! … That the (expletive) I’d be talking about right there!”

Later, Bryant began yelling at Cowboys media relations director Rich Dalrymple.

“How about you fix this (expletive), Rich?” Bryant yelled. “How about you fix it, Rich? You’re talking to the wrong people. You’re talking to the wrong people. I’ll make sure I’ll put it out then. Since y’all not going to say nothing.”

At one point, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett came into the vicinity. Bryant yelled to Garrett, “Dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty. They (expletive) dirty, coach! They’re dirty! They’re dirty! All of them! And especially you” as Bryant glared at Klemko.

Bryant then tweeted:

“If you’re going to tell something tell the whole thing…I’m done with the situation… I hope everyone is having a great day.”

Bryant later followed up on Twitter:

“Now I guess I’m the bad person? The media comes in our locker room with no restrictions… I guess they can say whatever and it’s cool…let me remind all of you… WE ARE HUMAN AS WELL..WITH FAMILIES..we have to live with a lot of flase talk about us…. I chose to stand up for me and what I represent….. I’m so sorry if a lot of you can’t handle being talked to direct.”
