Dallas Cowboys CB Brandon Carr witnesses the birth of his son on “Facetime”

Technology came to the rescue for one member of the Dallas Cowboys last week. CB Brandon Carr was attempting to get from Los Angeles to Dallas, TX on Monday when his fiancé went into labor. Not wanting to miss the birth of his first son,  his iPhone and “Facetime” ensured that although he was in LA he wouldn’t miss the important part.

“I saw everything I needed to see,” Carr told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I saw it all. Technology is wonderful these days. Sometimes you can’t control what’s going to happen. You’ve just got to go with the flow. I made the most of it.”

Carr eventually made it to Dallas to be with his fiancée and newborn son, Austin, missing two days of practice.

“No sleep at all, but I wouldn’t want it any other way,

Carr returned to the Cowboys in time for Friday night’s preseason game against the Raiders. Raiders win, 19-17.
