Carolina Panthers Hit Peak Petty Levels Using Future

Social media has changed things. The stuff that makes up episodes of “30-for-30” now play out in real time depending on which app is your favorite and who you choose to follow.

The NFL Divisional playoffs was a hotbed of Petty Pendergrass moments during Seattle Seahawks vs. Carolina Panthers. From the moments players stepped on the field to warm up, the soundtrack of the day was set,  Future.

Not just cause he’s popular and what a lot of young men around 25 are currently listening too, but also to send a shout out to Seahawks QB Russell Wilson. Yes, it matters that Russ is currently dating Ciara, whose Future’s ex.

After defensive back Tre Boston sacked Russell Wilson in the second quarter, he celebrated with what looked like your garden variety sack dance. But any member of the Future hive would tell you that there’s more there. The dance comes from Future’s “Where Ya At,”

In 2016 where rap battles are solved via memes, there was absolutely a message behind it.

And lastly, we can’t forget that Future dropped his new mixtape, “Purple Reign” the night before the big game. This prompted they Hive to drown Russ and Ciara’s mentions with purple umbrella emojiis.

But in the end, even though the Seahawks are headed home, Russ still has the support of his boo Cici.
