Bills Stevie Johnson takes to the field 1 day after losing his mother

Condolences go out to Buffalo Bills receiver Stevie Johnson. Johnson’s mother, Rhonda Lewis, died unexpectedly Saturday at her Northern California home according to “The Buffalo News.”Rhonda Lewis was 48.

A family associate who didn’t want to be identified told The News that Johnson was “devastated” to learn his mother had died the day the Bills traveled to Jacksonville but was determined to play this afternoon against the Jaguars at EverBank Field.

Johnson’s mother married Bay Area neighborhood activist and hip-hop figure Andre “Herm” Lewis after Stevie was born. They met when Johnson was 2.

Johnson started on Sunday for Bills vs. Jaguars.
