Beyoncé Gets Into Formation, Milly Rocks & Pays Homage To MJ

While Coldplay was the headliner Sunday night at Levi Stadium, for the halftime performance at Super Bowl 50, Beyoncé was the focus for many. King B dropped a new song “Formation” on Saturday.

If you were paying close attention to her two-minute slay session that included a dance battle with Bruno Mars, Bey paid homage to Michael Jackson’s 1993 Super Bowl halftime performance with her ensemble.

Her back up dancers gave a nod to the 50-year history of the Black Panthers, performing with afros and berets.

Bey even broke out the “Milly Rock” and almost fell but, Queens don’t trip. Bey caught herself and got right back into step with the dance routine.

Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’ tour will also benefit victims of the Flint water crisis. The tour announcement came moments after the queen slayed in the form of a commercial.  The World Tour kicks off in North America on April 27 at Marlins Park stadium in Miami, Florida. Pre-sale for tickets begins on February 9th, with general tickets going on sale February 15th via the Live Nation website.

The tour will support “local United Way programs and the continued work surrounding the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. ” Her BeyGood foundation will be partnering with the Genesee County United Way to help underserved Flint residents affected by the city’s ongoing water crisis.

In addition to that,  BeyGood is teaming up with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint to “create a fund that will address long-term developmental, education, nutrition and health needs of the children affected by the Flint Water Crisis. ” The tour hits Detroit’s Ford Field stadium on May 29.
