Bears RB Matt Forte suffered a knee injury during Sunday’s 10-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. the grade 2 MCL sprain will take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to heal. There was no damage to his ACL. Forte is currently in a holding pattern for a new contract. With QB Jay Cutler also out with injury, the Bears playoff hopes look dim and I’m sure Matt is breathing a sigh of relief that the injury wasn’t more serious.
Brings up the point again why in the NFL balancing contract negotiations and risking injury is always a hot button topic. What if Matt tore his ACL while “playing out” the contract process.
