2019 NFL Wild-Card Preview

The 2018 NFL regular season was definitely wild, which should bode well for Wild-Card weekend. Let’s take a look at all four games on tap for the first weekend of the NFL playoffs.

Texans vs Colts

Both of these teams started the season slowly but are now two of the hottest teams in football. The two AFC South rivals split their two regular-season meetings, although both games were decided by just three points. While both quarterbacks figure to take center stage in a potential shootout, this game could come down to what team is able to run the ball better and protect their quarterback. Of course, winning the turnover battle will also be key in what figures to be a tight game.

Cowboys vs Seahawks

These two teams are almost mirror images of one another. They are both excellent at running the ball and both are solid defensively. Seattle had their way with the Cowboys when these teams met in Week 3, but Dallas is a much different team at this point in the season. Also, the Seahawks will have to go on the road this time, which could swing the game toward Dallas.

Ravens vs Chargers

It was only two weeks ago that the Ravens beat the Chargers on the road, and now the Chargers have to make the trek to the east coast. It hasn’t always been pretty, but the Ravens have won six of their seven games since Lamar Jackson took over at quarterback, and their one loss probably should have been a win. No team has figured out how to stop Jackson and the Baltimore running game, which remains the challenge for the Chargers heading into this game.

Bears vs Eagles

The Eagles are suddenly hot, winning five of their last six games. They are also feeling confident with Nick Foles playing quarterback heading into the playoffs for the second straight year. Of course, the Bears have one of the best defenses in the league, one that’s great at creating turnovers. The Eagles will need their defense to play at a similar level and hope that Foles and company can find a way to pull out what figures to be a close, low-scoring game.
