Zach LaVine And Aaron Gordon Brought Flames To NBA Dunk Contest

All-Star Saturday night in Toronto gave the people what they wanted. With Drake in attendance for what can only be build as “The night lightskins represented,” we start with the Footlocker three-point contest. THe final round came down to the Golden State Warriors’ “Splash Brothers,” Stephen Curry – last year’s winner – and his backcourt teammate, Klay Thompson.

Klay scored 27 points in the final round. Phoenix’s Devin Booker – who also upheld the night’s theme- was third, with 16.

 

Also in the competition, the Rockets’ James Harden and Clippers’ J.J. Redick, Raptors’ Kyle Lowry, Trail Blazers’ C.J. McCollum and Bucks’ Khris Middleton.

In one of the cutest moments of the night, several NBA stars’ children took to the court for a kiddie dunk contest. Chris Paul’s son, lil CP3 and Carmelo Anthony’s son Kyian took to center court. There was even an appearance from New York Giants star Odell Beckham jr.

This year’s NBA Dunk contest will go down in history as one of the best dunk contests of all-time. Seriously, it’s up there with Dominique and MJ or the three-way battle between Vince Carter, Steve Francis and Tracy McGrady when All-Star his San Francisco in 2000. The contest was got its shine back thanks to Orlando Magic’s Aaron Gordon and Minnesota Timberwolves’ Zach LaVine. The two put on a show for the “6” that was filled with never-before-seen-dunks for the annual NBA event.

 

LaVine won the trophy, but if there was a case for a split vote, Saturday night would’ve been it. Following the contest, Zach posted to Instagram that he was dedicating the win to his former coach Flip Saunders.
