Really, the NBA has created an official time limit on NBA rituals before game tip off. The NBA’s reasoning, these pregame rituals cost the game up to 5 minutes from the original tip off. Seriously?? That’s why games are running behind? I doubt it. But starting this season, players will have 90 seconds following team introductions to take the floor.

Obviously the league was offended by Jeremy Lin and Landry Fields’ nerdy handshake last year with the Knicks. That took all of .09 seconds.
Or maybe they don’t want to see the return of King James powder toss that he stop doing in the playoffs.
Fans don’t seem to be bothered by these. They don’t actually take up that much time. I suppose maybe they’ll just have to really perfect these at practice and get the whole cycle down to a minute.
