Emotions sometimes get heated on the hardwood. Wednesday night, Phoenix Suns big man Marcus Morris got all in head coach Jeff Hornacek’s face during a timeout.
The emotional exchange came in the third quarter after Morris received a technical for protesting a foul. When he got to the bench, he was still in his feelings and took his frustrations out on his coach.
The Arizona Republic reports that Morris apologized to his coach and his Suns teammates for his extended outburst, adding that the exchange between player and coach was indeed precipitated by Morris’ frustration with the officials.
“Gotta be a better professional for my younger teammates and can’t let my emotions get the best of me,” Morris wrote on Twitter afterwards. “Love my coach and my team. Great win.”
Suns beat Timberwolves 113-111.
