Shoecide: October Sneaker Showcase

We’re less than a week away from the start of the NBA season and what goes hand in hand with the start of hoops? Sneakers of course. While my preferred footwear is stilettos, I do have a strong affinity for a Killer Sneaker game.  Simply put, SHOECIDE; death by insane footwear

  • Nike has a limited edition colorway of the Lebron 8, known as “Preheat” or the South Beach color way, I will forever refer to them by their influence, “Miami Vice”. The art deco district is one of my favorites in Miami and this shoe reflects that perfectly. Ohhh Sexy! These hit the streets of Miami October 16th and with the official release of the shoe, November 12th.
  • Brandon Jennings is the 1st Basketball athlete signed to Under Armour. His shoe, the “Black Ice” will be released on October 23rd will actually kick off UA’s foray into the world of basketball footwear.  I feel as if Brandon has such an engaging personality that the spot isn’t utilizing to sell the shoe. It’s such a basic looking shoe, I’d like to see his something else from UA. Of course, if Brandon performs well on the court, that’ll be the most important boost for them.

  • Russell Westbrook had a great couple of months. The OKC Thunder PG had a nice 1st round series against the Lakers, then went on to be a major factor in Team USA winning the Gold medal in Turkey this summer. Now all his hard work has been rewarded with his own Nike Hyperfuse. Featuring Russell’s logo, the newly dubbed “Mr. Why Not”. The Thunder appear to be on EVERYBODY’S radar for the upcoming season.
  • Derrick Rose’s addition to the sneaker arena is the Adidas Adizero Rose. This spot features “Slim Chin” holding all the conversation about “fast” wise decision not to have Derrick say a word. He’s about as interesting as an empty shoe box. But his game is CRAZY! Hey, MJ didn’t speak in his early spots either!
