I can’t think of many people who didn’t enjoy Shaq (well maybe if you were a bitter Orlando Magic fan when he left and came to the Lakers) Not only was he a great center, he entertained with his comedy AND he touched every community of the city he played in.
His retirement press conference (Live from his house in Orlando) it was exactly what you’d expect it to me. In case you missed it, check it out:
“Phil Jackson taught me how to focus and get to the Championship level. Doc Rivers always maintained teamwork”
“In light of today, I am retiring all my nicknames. The Big Aristotle, Shaq-Fu, The Big Shamrock, The Big Cactus, The Diesel, and finally, the one and only, original, never to be duplicated or replicated … Superman.” he said. “From now on, you can call me The Big AARP. Association for the Advancements of Retired Persons.”
Believes the league is in great hands with KOBE (yes his name was said first), LeBron, DWade and Melo. Also said that Dwight Howard is the only true big man left and he expects him to win 3 or 4 Championships.
Shaq will be Dr. O’Neal by December or January as he’s working on his PHD
