How did Shane Battier celebrate winning his second NBA title with the Miami Heat and hitting six of eight three-pointers, contributing 18 points in 29 minutes.? He went to Denny’s. While the rest of his teammates were partying it up at “Story” eating pizza and Prime 112 and sipping Champagne, Battier opted for a Grand Slam with family.
Battier was the X factor for the Heat on Thursday night after having a sub-par playoff series. DWade says Battier will go down as one of his favorite teammates and expressed how bad he wanted it for him.
And what did Shane have to say about his performance?
“I believe in the basketball gods,” Battier said. “I felt that they owed me big time. I had a bunch of shots in San Antonio that went in and out. So when that banker went in, I said you know what, they owe me. It was the start of a pretty good streak there.
