Chris Webber was one of the keys to the Sacramento Kings success in the early 2000’s. From 2001-2004 the cowbells were ringing – that’s a Phil Jackson reference from the heated Lakers vs. Kings playoff rivalries- Sacramento won 55, 61, 59, 55 respectively. Those teams were led by Webber and Jason “white chocolate” Williams for a year (2000-2001) before the Kings traded Williams for Mike Bibby.
The Kings are finally pulling it together thanks to players like DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins and Rudy Gay leading the newest wave. Thursday saw the franchise pay tribute to their former stars, and retire CWebb’s jersey.
Webber’s jersey was a tad dirty. Wonder who missed that?
