If you happened to catch Friday night’s game between the Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics, you’ll know the most important moment took place after the final whistle. In 1995 Kevin Garnett was the start of a new era of high school players making the leap into the NBA. At that time, one of the greatest power forwards in Celtics history was transitioning into the second phase of his career as an NBA executive, Kevin McHale. The two have shared a relationship for 17 years.
Following a Rockets win over the Celtics, Garnett went to embrace McHale and share a few words with him. McHale loss his daughter Sasha to lupus a few short weeks ago and has only recently returned to the bench. In light of Friday’s tragedy in Newtown, CT. this moment transcended sports. Clearly emotional, we’re showen the value of friendship and true connections.
