The competition in the Western Conference just went up a notch. The Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks have reportedly agreed to a trade that will send all-star point guard Rajon Rondo to Dallas for Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, Jameer Nelson and a future first- and second-round draft pick.
Rondo will be a free agent at the end of the season. The Lakers were interested in Rondo’s services as well- he and Kobe just recently went to breakfast– but reportedly thought it was more important to hold on to the draft pick and potentially make a run at Rondo during 2015 free agency.
This move definitely sets the Mavs up to make a run for the finals. The biggest question is chemistry. Rondo is known to be an “a$$ hole” in his own words.
