President Obama says he’s the Miami Heat and Mitt Romney is Jeremy Lin

We are in an election year and it’s no secret that our Commander-in-Chief LOVES hoops. According to the New York Post, President Obama recently compared himself to the Miami Heat and cast Republican candidate Mitt Romney as Jeremy Lin.

No matter what moves Mr. Romney made, the president said, he and his team were going to cut him off and block him at every turn. “We’re the Miami Heat, and he’s Jeremy Lin,” Mr. Obama said, according to the aide.

Let me break this down for you surface NBA fans who are only looking at this as the Heat being the current NBA champion and Lin for all intents and purposes being a “gimmick.” I mean, that’s the obvious POV in this statement and and a fitting one. But I’d also like to point out that back in February during the apex of “Linsanity” and that 9 game winning streak, the Heat were the team to take to wind out of those sales. The two teams faced off against each other back in February when Lin was averaging 24 points ppg and 9 assists. The Heat stopped him cold limiting him to 8 points and 3 assists. It was all down hill from there.

So take what you will from that in this political battle.
