The NBA is currently in preseason with a little under two weeks left before the 2016 season officially kicks off. Many fans and media have wondered if players would join a movement started by San Francisco 49’ers QB Colin Kaepernick by kneeling during the National Anthem.
So far, there has been arm linking in preseason, but no kneeling, until Monday night. Singer Leah Tysse took a knee while she was singing the anthem before the Sacramento Kings game against Israeli League team Maccabi Haifa. The singer – who is white- knelt right as she began singing the lyric, “and the land of the free”
Leah took to her Facebook page to explain why she joined the protest.
