A quick look at what’s bubbling around the internet:
Victoria’s Secret Pink has a new NFL based line debuting in stores next week. I adore Pink so I was pretty excited to see that they were dabbling into a partnership with the NFL. Unfortunately it’s only with 13 teams, curiously missing are the Superbowl Champs, the Saints and my personal fav the RAMS! Oh well, I always wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader!
The Eye candy factor will remain in tact this season on the Lakers as Shannon Brown has agreed to resign with the team. $4.6 Million for 2 years! Mmmmm delicious!
The Big (insert your own nickname or joke here) or just SHAQ has signed with the Boston Celtics. Details of the contract weren’t released but it’s reportedly worth roughly $3 million dollars for 2 years. With Perkins injury and Rasheed’s retirement, I understand the Celtics motivation. Shaq on the other hand… sigh, I guess it’s to try and surpass Kobe on the ring front and make 20 years in the L. But how do we REALLY feel about all the team hopping? Oh well, see you Oct. 26th on TNT Big Leprechaun… The Most dominant 4 Leaf clover?? No? Ok Maybe next joke.
After an uneventful off season (save the resigning of guard Rasual Butler. WHAT??? It was something!) The Clippers Summer of sadness continues. The team and former coach Mike Dunleavy are accusing each other of fraud in court filings before an arbitration hearing over whether Dunleavy is still owed money by the team. Oh Mr. Sterling, your legal team must LOVE how active you keep them!
An investment group led by Hall of Fame pitcher and Texas Rangers president Nolan Ryan won the bid for the team, beating a nearly $600 million offer from outspoken Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. I remember when Cuban 1st purchased the Mavs and the excitement he brought to the team, was hoping he might be able to duplicate that with the Rangers. I’d love to see what Mark Cuban’s zeal would bring to the MLB.
And apparently the Cardinals feel a little training camp ruckus is healthy! This is FOOTBALL we’re talking about
