It’s a new WNBA dynasty. The Minnesota Lynx have won their third championship in five years. On Wednesday night – in a Game 5 thriller – the Lynx defeated the Indiana Fever 69-52.
This was the first finals Game 5 since 2009. Add this title to the 2011 and 2013 ones. Odd years are their thing clearly. Their are four starters who have been on all three title teams — Seimone Augustus, Maya Moore, Lindsay Whalen and Rebekkah Brunso.
Sylvia Fowles was a midseason addition to the frontline, traded from Chicago. Fowles scored 20 points with 11 rebounds and a block. Fowles, scored 20 or more in three of the five games, and was voted Finals MVP.
