The Phoenix Suns have reached a verbal commitment with free-agent forward Michael Beasley for a three-year deal worth $18 million.
Beasley selected the Suns from a group of five teams following a visit with Suns officials Wednesday. The move also happened after the Suns and Lakers agreed to a Steve Nash sign-and-trade and possibly losing out on a bid to secure Hornets RFA Eric Gordon for 4-years-$58 million.
The Suns and Beasley met earlier this week in LA. The Timberwolves opted to let Beasley become an unrestricted free agent. Beasley averaged 11 ppg last season in seven starts.
