Mavericks Guard JJ Barea Dating Former Miss Universe

When you hear that a former Miss Universe is dating an NBA player, instantly you start racking your mind thinking of all the single “superstars” that would be on Miss Universe’s radar. One name that never entered into the equation for me was Mavericks guard J.J. Barea.

The Puerto Rico native met the former Miss Universe, Zuleyka Rivera, at a few celebrity events in their native country. Hearing that she broke up with her boyfriend, Barea managed to get her number and send a text message.

After chatting and texting, the two went on their first date last September in Miami where Zukeyka resides.

“It was an awesome first date,” Barea said. “We took a private boat in Miami Beach and then went to a restaurant and hung out. Then I had to go to Dallas the next day.”

Hooray for new love. She’s beautiful and per J.J. a great person to boot!
