Matt Barnes says Phoenix Suns owner caused his $25,000 fine

Matt Barnes has always been outspoken on the basketball court. Matt has been hit with a $25,000 for cursing out a “fan” during a game.

The NBA made the announcement on Tuesday. The incident occurred with 4:28 remaining in the second quarter of the Clippers’ 120-100 win over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday at US Airways Center.

Matt unleashed on Twitter saying the “fan” was actually Suns owner Robert Sarver who started the incident by talking trash to him first.

Side note, Matt spent a year with the Suns during the 08-09 season. Bad blood?

Matt seemed to find some humor in it. He posted this meme on Instagram of him having to get a second job cause of all his fines.

Matt also recently got into some courtside trash talk with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The boxer is always courtside at Clippers games.
