Lebron James works out following Heat loss to Knicks

Following the Heat’s second double-digit loss to the Knicks, LeBron James took an unconventional approach to dealing with it. He worked out. LeBron hit up the weight room – like Kobe Bryant did following a loss to the Heat in Miami 2011.  Lebron’s stat line for the night was impressive, 31 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists but he felt as if he still needs to get better in order for the heat to break out of this post-championship let down.

“I’ve got to be better,” James said. “I’ve got to be better. It’s that simple. I’m here, and I’m the last one to leave.”

“We’ve got work to do,” James said. “We can’t act like, OK, let’s just sweep this under the rug. We’ve got a lot of work to do. New York is a real team, they’ve got some real good players, and we understand that.”

Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade underwhelmed against the Knicks. Bosh’s assessment is that the Heat might need to slow down but LeBron doesn’t agree.

“That had nothing to do with us getting smashed tonight,” James said. “It’s all right. We’ve got to do whatever we’ve got to do. If we play fast, then we’ve got to get back and we’ve got to communicate defensively.”

Coming on the heels of a loss to the Wizards on Tuesday, I guess LeBron is showing leadership by example.
