LaVar Ball’s “Big Baller Brand Challenge” Brought 1 Million Viewers To FaceBook

LaVar Ball is working his Big Baller plan to perfection. After pulling the younger Ball brothers from their respective college and high school programs, BBB headed overseas to Lithuania where the plan shifted once again.

Prienu Vytautas pulled out of their Baltic league after the other teams reportedly had issues with the “Ball in the Family” Facebook show cameras in the venues. So LaVar developed a new plan, set up a series of five “friendlies” across Lithuania with various teams like soccer does. The Big Baller Brand Challenge launched January 9th and garnered over 1.6 million views for the inaugural game via Facebook to watch LaMelo and LiAngelo hit the hardwood.

If you’re wondering what is the team’s motivation to be so accommodating, money and promo.

The friendly games they participate in with the Big Baller Brand Challenge won’t affect the team’s standing in the Lithuanian Basketball League. The team is generating revenue through the Ball family

Vytautas will still be able to play in the Lithuanian Basketball League, but Melo and Gelo won’t get much run there. The Baltic Basketball League is less important plus, as a team playing in a small town of 10,000 people with no general manager. The 100,000 euros ($120,000) in revenue for the team, including whatever FaceBook offered up is a win.

But the BBB has some other troubles stateside, and that’s not just the friction LaVar may or may no be causing between Lonzo and his Lakers teammates or coach Luke Walton with his comments.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the brand is being sued by apparel company “Closet Collection” over breach of contract. Big Baller Brand allegedly owes Closet Collection nearly $25,000 for hats, t-shirts and other general apparel items listed on Big Baller Brand’s website.

“When it came time to make payments, they kind of bailed,” a Closet Collection representative told The Times on Monday on the condition his name not be used because of the ongoing legal proceedings. “We tried for about three months. They said they would make payment about seven times. They just kept pushing it back and kept pushing it back.”

And lastly, just in case you missed an episode of “Ball in the Family” from China, footage recently aired of LaVar dealing with Gelo after the shoplifting incident.
