The Lakers are said to be interested in guard Delonte West. West played for current Lakers coach, Mike Brown. West last played with the Dallas Mavericks but was sidelined after 44 games last season with an injury to his ring finger.
West would be backing up Steve Nash AND Kobe, the question is would he be an upgrade over Steve Blake and Devin Ebanks. West averages 9.7 ppg and 3.7 assists. A benefit of Delonte is his three-point shot. That certainly could help spread the floor and give a needed scoring punch of the bench.
The Lakers would likely be offering the veteran’s minimum for a one-year deal, around $1.3 million. Per ESPN.com West is said to be looking for a multi-year deal.
