The Lakers dropped their season opener to Dirk-less Dallas Mavericks ::sad face:: but was their fashion on point? Steve Nash showed up for his first game with the Lakers complete with a pink sweater and bow tie. While Dwight utilized pink as an accent and even rocked a plaid vest. Kobe opted for classic styling and carried a toiletry bag, as did Steve Nash. I think it may have offended quite a few on Twitter.
Now onto that loss. The problem with the Lakers is their offense. Pau Gasol cannot be your number one option. Utilizing the “modified Princeton offense” is taking away from the Lakers strengths i.e. Steve Nash with the ball in his hands. The Lakers made 49.4 percent of their shots, got to the free throw line 31 times (Dwight’s personal free throw stats were horrid but what’s new) , and had 24 assists on 38 made field goals. But the offense was a halfcourt set and too sow. There was great ball movement but all of that still resulted in a L… to the Mavs..
It’s only one game, blah, blah but considering the Lakers haven’t won since last season, it sure feels a lot bigger.
