Congratulations to the city of Cleveland. The Cavaliers have secured a max extension with 22-year-old-point guard Kyrie Irving. “Uncle Drew” has agreed to a five-year-$90 million extension with the franchise.
Although the deal can’t be officially signed until July 10th, it assures Cavs fans they won’t see owner Dan Gilbert light Irving up with a cosmic sans font the way he did LeBron in 2010.
At least not for another five years.
I’m here for the long haul Cleveland!!! and I’m ecstatic!! Super excited and blessed to be here and apart of something special.#ClevelandKID

There was talk that Kyrie didn’t want to stay with the Cavs, but most aren’t turning down $90 million guaranteed. He’ll only be 27 when this contract is up. Just entering his prime hoop years.
