Kobe Bryant On His Relationship With The Other MJ- Micheal Jackson

With Kobe Bryant suffering yet another season ending injury. The realization that “the end” has a firm and real 2016 expiration date is something that has consumed us all. On Feburary 28th, Showtime will debut a documentary on Kobe, produced by the son of Spiritual guru and best seeling author, Deepak Chopra.

Kobe Bryant’s Muse — produced by Gotham Chopra— promises to get into the sticky areas that have been avoided for many years, like the Colorado incident. Filming began prior to Kobe’s Achilles injury. Kobe reportedly sat for 20 interviews with Chopra. Here are a few of the topics we’ll gain some perspective on.

Post NBA career, Kobe might end up in the documentary industry himself:

“There are so many other stories to be told,” he says, adding that he’d like to profile Phil Jackson and Apple designer Jonathan Ive.

Kobe on his relationship with the other MJ, Michael Jackson:

Michael is one of my mentors. When I was 18, he introduced me to his muses. I had never seen a Fred Astaire film.

You watched Fred Astaire movies with him?

BRYANT Yeah, I wanted to know how he sold 50 million albums, so he walked me through how he prepares, how he trains, how he writes, how he studies.

What was the most important lesson you learned from Michael Jackson?

BRYANT That everything is connected. Whether you’re a writer, an actor, a singer, a composer or an athlete, the common thread is there. Everything around us is an opportunity to be inspired.

Kobe previously mentioned how MJ tried to get him into meditation when he was 18.
