Kobe Bryant Gives His Take on the Nick Young-D’Angelo Russell Situation

Kobe Bryant has had a bit of experience being labeled a “snitch” and a “rat.” The situation was vastly different, but if anyone can give advice to Lakers’ rookie D’angelo Russell.

Russell is currently at the center of a storm after a video he recorded of Nick Young talking about cheating on his fiancée somehow leaked.

Back in 2003, Kobe had his on scandal to deal with. In the summer of 2003 Kobe was accused of rape. He maintained the one-night stand was consensual. When he was confronted by Colorado police who were investigating the allegations, Kobe reportedly told the cops that Shaq cheats on his wife, too and he pays for their silence.

Kobe’s advice to Russell, is to learn from it. At this current moment all he can do is apologize, hope time heals it and become a beast on the court.

“It’s tough. There’s a lot to learn. I’m sure [Russell will] evolve and grow and be better from it,” he told the team’s reporter. “The guys are understanding. We are all human beings. Everybody makes mistakes. Important thing is to show compassion.”
