The Lakers ended their annual Grammys road trip with a loss at Madison Square Garden. The Lakers were competitive, but in the end came up short, 110-103. Before the game, Kobe was asked his thoughts on Melo’s performance Friday night where he scored 62 points and knocking down the Black Mamba’s previous record-setting Madison Square Garden performance of 61.
“I got a lot of messages from people saying, ‘Melo is going after your record tonight,’” Bryant said. “It’s amazing. He just went to work. He got hot and didn’t cool off. I called him that same night just to congratulate him.”
Bryant was also asked about Carmelo potentially coming to the Los Angeles in free agency. The Lakers are one of the teams that can offer Anthony a max contract.
Best of all, Kobe flicking it up with 50 Cent and Academy Award winning actress Meryl Streep.
The Lakers returned to LA Sunday night, finishing the road trip 2-5.
