Let’s hope for “world peace” on the Lakers this season. There always has to be some sort of drama setting the stage for the season. Kobe Bryant doesn’t like the Lamar Odom trade. Looks like another major franchise move is made with no input from the Lakers superstar. Kobe and Lamar were friends. At the very least, Kobe trusted him. His comments from the Lakers media day:
“I don’t like it,” Bryant said Sunday. “I’ve known Lamar for a long time, and for the team itself, he’s meant a lot in terms of his versatility, his personality. He’s a big presence for us in the locker room, just from a team chemistry standpoint. He’s great at bringing guys together and things of that nature.
When asked about what Dallas was giving up to receive Odom, “I don’t think Mark Cuban is protesting this trade”
So Lamar was the peacemaker. Probably the only one who could reign Kobe in. Andrew Bynum is shocked. He said the move definitly breaks up the team. Lamar reportedly asked for a trade on Friday after the NBA stopped the deal that would’ve sent him to the Hornets.
So if the Lakers DON’T end up with Dwight Howard after this, will it be worth it?
