Kevin Love is a hot target this off season, even though he doesn’t become an actual free agent until 2015. Love has been ready to jump ship from the Minnesota Timberwolves for quite some time now and informed management not to attempt to sign him to an extension. Lots of trade scenarios are being floated around. The Wolves reportedly wanted to wait until after the draft to entertain trade scenarios.
Wednesday Love appeared on ESPN’s “Sports Nation” where he discussed wanting to play for a winner and if he could see the Knicks possibly being a part of the equation.
“No matter what the outcome is, I just want to end up in a great place where I can win,” Love said on “SportsNation.” “At the end of the day, I’ve played six years, haven’t made the playoffs yet, that burns me and hurts my heart, so I really want to be playing.”
Love was also asked about the possibility of playing for the Knicks. He said that having team president Phil Jackson as part of the organization definitely makes it an intriguing destination.
“I think any time you have Phil Jackson involved in any organization, you’re going to definitely look at it and it’s definitely intriguing,” Love said. “The Knicks are definitely a place where anybody would like to go.”
