Will we ever really know the details about what went wrong with the relationship between the Golden State Warriors and Mark Jackson? Jackson led the Warriors in three seasons as their head coach, to the playoffs twice, a 50-win season and seemed to have the unwavering support of the teams star, Steph Curry.
After pushing the Clippers to a game seven in the first round, Jackson has been fired by the Warriors.

Some of the theories floating around have more to do with off the court issues. Jackson and management weren’t on the same page. Some of it was his defensiveness- he didn’t want management to talk to his assistants or event to let Jerry West into practices. Some were also believe to have a problem with his strong religious beliefs.
Another theory that was floated to me at the start of the season; Jackson would fail this year after losing assistant Mike Malone to the Kings last season, the reality of Jackson’s coaching would show up this year. Overall, it set up for an uncomfortable environment outside of the locker room.
It will be interesting to watch how Stephen Curry responds to the news. Does it send a message to him that his voice doesn’t matter to management since he was very vocal about wanting Jackson to stay.
Jackson had an additional year left on his contract. In his three seasons with the Warriors, he led them to an overall 121-109 record.
