Dwyane Wade wants to be known as “3”

Dwyane Wade had an announcement as he stepped to the podium Thursday night following the Miami Heat win over the San Antonio Spurs. He now wants to be known as “3.” For those three NBA championships he now owns.

We’ve gone through several nicknames with DWade. There were the “Flash” years when the Heat won their first NBA title. Recently there was the lame W.O.W. nickname, “Way of Wade”…

But this “3” thing- which is also his number- seems like it could stick. And not be too contrived or bring up past ghosts.
