Dwight Howard fires back at Shaq, “I don’t care what he says, he’s done”

We know Shaq likes to talk… a lot! Recently the big retiree came out and said that Lakers center Dwight Howard is the THIRD best center in the NBA behind Andrew Bynum – debatable for some – and Nets Brook Lopez ::blank stare::

Dwight fired back stating that Shaq’s time has passed and it’s time for him to hush:

“I don’t care what Shaq says. Shaq played the game. He’s done. He’s gone. It’s time to move on. He hated the fact when he played that the older guys were talking about him and how he played and now he’s doing the exact same thing,” Howard said of O’Neal. “Just let it go. There’s no sense for him to be talking trash to me. He did his thing in the league. He’s one of the most dominant players to ever play the game. Just sit back and relax. You did your thing. Your time is up. So, I don’t really care. He can say whatever he wants to say.”

“I have respect for him and what he did for basketball. That’s it. Like I said, he has already did his thing. He played. When my time is up, there’s going to be somebody else who can do everything I can do and probably do it better. Instead of me talking about him, I’ll do my job to try to help him get to where I’m at. I think that’s what guys who have done it before us should do.”

I agree. It’s time for Shaq to let his high school beef with Howard go. I’ll be the first to admit that I have agreed with some of the things Dwight has done – i.e. WHY are you talking about you’re Superman… IN Orlando… Where SHAQ blazed that trail – but to keep talking trash about a player who is clearly accomplished within his generation is petty.

You can debate back and forth between Bynum and Howard, I understand that but to drop Brook ahead of Dwight was done to antagonize. Shaq gets paid for his opinion at this point, I realize that but he’s trolling Dwight for kicks and giggles in my opinion. 3 weeks until the NBA season kicks off. Tale of the tape coming soon.
